Immersed in the splendid Lucca countryside, but just 6 kilometers from the historical city of the town, rises the Fattoria Bigongiari, in San Macario in Piano.
The farm conserves the esthetic rural construction characteristics of the past intact and offers its visitors a ¨truly¨ natural vacation. The Bigongiari brothers actually continue the tradition of raising cattle, pigs and other barnyard animals, and that of the direct sell of cheeses, meats and salamis, and typical Tuscan products.
The farm has its own store, whose product variety represents that of the farms production.

Inside the farm is the agriturismo or farm holiday, a completely restored old farmhouse made up of three independent living units – apartments “Nello”, “Rosina”, and “Guido” – in which to spend unforgettable moments in close contact with the animals. Every apartment has and equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace and sofa bed, double bed room, a bedroom with two beds, and private baths. There is a barbeque area available to the clientele.

The farmhouse offers a vast private park, with a relaxation area equipped yard furniture, in order to spend pleasurable, calm moment.
Thanks to its very favorable location, the Bigongiari agriturismo is a perfect place to take off for numerous excursions in the surrounding areas and the nearby Versilia, reachable by car in just twenty minutes. The very nearby city of Lucca is a certainly must-see, with its famous monuments, numerous churches and the famous historical city walls, still intact, and the historic villas of Piana di Lucca. Pisa with the amazing Piazza dei Miracoli is only 20 km away. Further, during September, Nozzano and its castle bring the magic of the past back to life: in a charming medieval scene, typical antique plates are offered, one can take part in a costume parade and jester exhibitions, taste the wines of Lucca and antique deserts. It all can be paid for in the money of that era, which is converted at the castle entrance. Worth noting are the Antiche Terme di San Giuliano, known even back in the Roman age, the “Strada dell’Olio” and the Certosa di Calci.

We emphasize that holidays in Bigongiari Farm are true “farmhouse holidays” to tightened contact with nature, breeding animals and farm animals.
These beautiful holidays may be interpreted, by somebody, like a little “uneasiness”. Instead, true nature lovers, will not find difficulties to accept presence of animals so close, but they will think immediately that on the balance “for” weight more than “against”.
