Have you ever heard of Louisiana? The extreme northern part of Tuscany set between Liguria and Emilia, a land of wayfarers and immigrants…proud of its uncontaminated nature, of its traditions, of its cuisine which indissolubly combines quality and authenticity. We are in the valley of “Cento Castelli” (100 Castels), not far from the Apuan and Versilian beaches, the coastline of Cinque Terre and art cities such as Florence, Pisa and Lucca.
There‘s a date engraved on the stone at the front of the house: “1792” … well, if these walls could talk, the would tell of fatigue and sacrifices, of sleepless nights assisting the birth of a calf, or of endless days in the scorching sun harvesting grain…scenes of a small country world handed down from generation to generation, with the typical stubbornness of one who gets his self-worth from his passion for the land…This isn’t paradise, but the animals graze in complete freedom and reproduce so purely, the hard-working bees inebriating themselves with acacia flowers, the salamis hung in the cellar: the hundred year old pear tree that challenges all seasons; the Magra river leisurely flowing nearby the house…
The farm holiday “I POGGI”, is the product of the desire to restore an imposing but charming structure, where four simple and cozy apartments offer hospitality for a stay or vacation: each apartment is made up of double bedrooms, bathrooms with showers and an equipped kitchen, and furnished with independent heat.
Our guests can go on excursions in the outskirts of the structure thanks to the many trekking paths in the zone, passable by foot, bike or horse. It is also possible to have a picnic along the Magra river which flows nearby.
