The HOTEL "LE ALPI" has begun its activity in the '30s. In those years it was known as "Locanda delle Alpi" and it was run by my aunt and my mother. My grandmother bought the building in 1950 and the activity was moved in another place, because of the building of an artificial lake and a dyke where there was the village of Vagli. The lake is called "Lago di Vagli" and it is a very suggestive place: every ten years the lake is emptied out and the village, called Phantom Village, is visible.

The Hotel was managed by my grandparents until 1970, then my mother and I starter to run this activity.
Today my wife Iride, my sons and I manage the Hotel. It was very small and we had just 8 rooms and a small dining room with 25-30 seats so in 1980 the hotel was restored and we built some more . Now the hotel has 19 rooms and the dining room has 130 seats.
It is situated in the middle of Apuan Alps Natural Park and the territory of Vagli offers to nature lovers the enchantment of its marble mountains, the magic atmosphere of the lake, the beautiful woods and pasture-land. The dizzy heights of Monte Roccanagia, the karst abyss of Arnetola's glacial hollow, the so-called "Marmitte dei Giganti", the Hermitage of Saint Viviano, the mysterious village, submerged by the lake, are just few of the several places that make Vagli an unforgettable resort to spend a fantastic holiday.
