This is the smallest tuscan municipality by extension, a little more than 5 square km. Marciana Marina is located in the north-west of the Island of Elba and its beaches are annually destination for seaside tourism. From the remains found on the site has been confirmed the presence of some settlements in roman times. In the Middle Ages on the coast was built, by the pisan, a watchtower to defend the land from the pirate raids. The fortification, of imposing profile, still stands watching over the sea. In 1399 control of the island passed to the Appiano of Piombino who shared the rule with the french during the napoleonic period. Only with the Congress of Vienna the town became part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The municipality of Marciana Marina was formed in 1884 when it separated from the town of Marciana Alta. This picturesque fishing village is now a destination for sailing and water sports lovers. Despite being a town of small size has a high accommodation capacity and many other activities related to the hospitality and entertainment of the tourists in the summer season. There are three beaches located in the municipal area: Baia della Caletta, wide and sandy, La Fenicia and Redinoce, both in the gravel. Is not lacking even in historical and artistic buildings: at the center of the village is the Church of Santa Chiara dating back to 1776, it is a religious structure with a single nave whose facade is decorated with four columns and a wonderful title. Admirable are also Villa Anselmi and Villa Leonardi erected in the nineteenth century and the islet named to Pauline Bonaparte on which are the ruins of a roman building, probably a store.|"Marciana Marina"Bed and Breakfast a Marciana Marina
